Hi all, can you please tell me what is the best app for making panoramas on Lumia 1020? I have used photosynth and Nokia panorama, but the final resolution on both apps is very bad. I want something that preserves the quality of the original individual pictures.

Thank you all

As in 38MP? ain't gonna happen. Try shooting portrait mode with Panorama it's a bigger file but fewer pictures.

No, I mean panoramas with a resolution similar to the standard 5mp image. I have found that the size of the files is greatly reduced when using those wp apps. On IOS there was an app called auto stitch panorama that make nice panoramas and you could choose the level of detail and the size of the files. For me is hard to believe that panoramas shooted on an iPhone 4 looked better than the ones shooted on my Lumia 1020. Btw thanks for the tip with Nokia panorama.

On my 820 (8MP camera) using Panorama portrait mode it was a 5918 x 3457 /4.66MB image

I am trying an app called auto panorama, it seems to preserve the details better than Nokia panorama, however the stitch is not that good. I hope that we have an update on Nokia panorama or photosynth that let us choose the quality.

When I use landscape mode and open file (not emailed) on my PC it's a 10886 x 1877 /5.05MP image.

Where you viewing an emailed image ? it really compresses it, the 4.66MB image was only 363KB

Ok my mistake, I emailed the images so the panoramas where heavily compressed. Now I have made a comparison of the same panorama using 3 different apps; photosynth, Nokia panorama and Auto Panorama.

Photosynth image is 416kb
Nokia Panorama is 2,68mb
Auto Panorama is 2,79mb

Overall I think the quality on Nokia Panorama and Auto Panorama is very similar, but the stitch on AP is very badly done. On the other hand shooting panoramas on NP it's a very slow process. So if you want speed, use Auto Panorama and if you want more accuracy on the stitches ,and a better user interface then you should use Nokia Panorama.

Email is actually not too bad, I was surprised even with the 8MP camera.
I also noticed shooting Panorama portrait mode the Nokia lines up really fast practically does for you if it's not too dark.
