Hi. I'm a student, and I own a computer which runs Windows Vista in it.
I have two options to upgrade for Windows 10 paying little for it:

  • To buy Windows 8.1 for Students for a small price from Microsoft and then upgrade it to Windows 10
  • To wait until Windows 10 gets a cheaper version for students[/B][/B]

The second would be the best option, because it won't be attached to my computer, since it is a new copy rather than na upgrade.
But I want to use Windows 10 as soon as possible, and so I am considering the first option.

What should I do? Do you that will it take long until Windows 10 for Students is released?

Go to http://insider.windows.com and register as an insider, download Windows 10 from there. Enter the slow ring after so you won't have to upgrade every time there's a new build, and then buy a cheaper student version when it's released :)

I did exactly that. I have not been getting the pre-release builds and selected slow ring. However, I was able to go into Insider yesterday and download without issue.
