I'm on the fence as to if I should buy a Black & Gold Special Edition 930. I am kind of of a phone consumer of sorts, meaning I love take phones out for a spin :) I'm trying to find out if anybody has had any experience with the phone? In your opinion, was the gold color more flashy/bling then elegant? Did it draw to much attention or look weird? It looks good but I am unsure. I would do it only if it wasn't to flashy. Love to get some feedback.

Thanks

I bought the Black and Gold Lumia 930 last month when I sold my black 1020. I was in the same boat as you when deciding because I had a very plain Lumia 1020 that didn't draw much attention. But because the 1020 was so plain, I wanted a good balance between something that drew eyes but wasn't too flashy. At first, I wanted the orange 930 but I watched reviews online and they said it was really bright orange! So I went ahead and took a chance on the black and gold. In my opinion, I love it and it looks far more elegant in person than when you see it in pictures. The shade of gold is more a bronze/gold, not a flashy yellow/gold. If you compare it to the gold iphone, the 930 is much darker. The iphone is more of a light champagne/gold. I look at it this way, if you are someone that wants to draw attention when people are up close but not far away, then the black and gold is for you. If you want to draw attention from up close and far, get a bright colored Lumia. If neither, then stick with the plain black or white.

Meanie...thanks for the reply. You make some good points here. I've had an Orange 930 before I got my current White 1520. You are so right about the orange... it really is too bright. I want something elegant but unique. I love the 1520...the screen, design, as well as other things, are great about... but it is really big, making iota somewhat burdensome to carry around. I keep going back and forth between keeping this thing and moving on. I dunno...I might just pull the trigger on this thing. I just thought about something. Isn't it funny that nobody asks whether the gold iphone is to flashy or not? smh. BTW... is the 930 is going to get W10 right? I'd hate to give up my 1520 if it isn't.

My 930 is running W10TP beautifully

I also bought the black and gold 930 last month. Not flashy at all. Just the right amount of gold trim around the edges. It's a heavy phone, compared to my 925, but has a nice feel in your hand. I have the international version and am in the US, so I don't get 4G service. However, according the tech at my AT&T store I am getting 3.5G, and honestly I don't notice the difference. Bottom line, I love the phone. It takes great pics.

I ended up getting one but its going back. It just doesn't feel as good in the hand as my 1520. It's a nice phone though. I got a white one though I think the black would be better.
