Black screen when calling

Today my NL920 just doesn't want to show the call screen options, it stays all black... I suspect a proximity sensor problem, but could this be software related by any chance? Also, as I'm typing this post the screen went to full brightness and would stay that way forever if I didn't lock it...

Any way to deal with this myself without activating the warranty or sending it to Nokia care?

just give 1 try flashing your firmware again,,

Might be some dirt cause the problem, try to use a can of air spray, cleans that out, and reboot your phone in a real dark room(you can just cover the proximity sensor with your finger or anything. see if it works.
