Can someone tell me if the capacitive buttons lite up and vibrate when touched?

No idea

On the original WIN HD they do not light but do vibrate. The lack of lighting is the only thing I dislike about the phone.

Sounds like the lumia 521. Those don't lite up either. Not a deal breaker for me but having the haptic feedback on the windows button is very handy.

Thanks for the info. Any idea if it has an on/off setting to enable or disable haptic feedback in settings like the lumias?

I don't see any options in settings to configure haptic feedback. It's a pretty vanilla install of 8.1 - no customizations to be found in settings or in the OS.
