Bluetooth Connection Failing?

I am having issues 900 connecting automatically when I start my car. My WRX STi used to just auto connect to my phone when I turned it on with my old Samsung Focus, but with my Lumia 900 I have to turn on and off bluetooth a few times and eventually it will connect. Is anyone else having issues like this? Anyone have suggestions on how to fix this issue?

Updating with the solution for my specific issue. Basically in my Subaru Impreza WRX STi, the stereo needed to have the old phone removed through the voice commands menu along with the one you can use the dash buttons for. Once I did that and readded the phone it worked perfectly.
