Bluetooth power usage

Hi Everyone. I've never really used the Bluetooth on the icon before and wanted to know what the power drain would be like. I have the Denim update. A little background is that I want to use Bluetooth to connect to my car while commuting for phone calls. Do people just leave the blue tooth on all the time even when walking around? Or do you just turn it on when you get into the car?

just turn it on when you get in a car.
Since there is no switch to turn off the device search it would be advisable to use it only when you get in.
Otherwise it would be searching for nearby devices at a preset interval.

With the Denim update you now have BT4.0 which includes LE (low energy). I keep BT turned on all of the time because I have the MS Band and I don't see a noticeable hit to my battery life.
