Bought a new Lumia 925 to replace my broken HTC 8x and now my computer won't recognize it

I'm not entirely sure what to do. I plugged it in via usb and received no prompt on how it should sync the device. I checked the devices folder on the control panel and saw this

Tried running the troubleshooter to see if it would reinstall the drivers but no dice. What do I do now? Just run a complete hard reset on the phone and hope my computer recognizes it afterwards?

That's weird. I can relate in a way, because this has happened to me with my external hard drive before. Did you try connecting it to a different USB port? Sometimes that helps.

Go to Nokia support, download their software, then connect your 925 with the USB cable. Works fine on my computer.

Which software is that? All I see is the Mac connector on the support page for the 925
