bought an htc 8s secondhand and its stuck on 8.0

Ive switched to android a while ago but always liked windows phone far more. So when i saw a bargain for an htc 8s i actually couldn't resist. Only issue is its on 8.0, i tried to update and it merely says its up to date. Date and time is correct, is there any way to update?

Don't think you can I've just bought a Lumia 620 after having windows 10 fone and there is virtually no difference only app you cant get is amazon other than that its fine

Anyways, I don't know of it's still functioning but try to see if you can get onboard the Preview for Developers program. (the precursor to Windows Insider) If you can, you'll get 8.1.

Or try device recovery tool it may offer latest build

I'm not trying to update to 10, tried updating a limit 620 years ago to that and it was a bad experience with 512mb. I've tried resetting at this point, tried preview for developers.
Also I thought device recovery tool was Lumia only?
