Hello everybody this topic may be common up to now but going to the point my Lumia 920's camera stopped working suddenly never broke anything, the phone never fell down or something like that. I've tried every single step that is listed. Reset, soft reset, soft reset+camera, hard reset, flashing new software, etc, etc.
Plus, I ran the self diagnostic on Nokia Care Suit and the flash which wasn't either working responded successfully but the camera no. There's a message saying that there's not enough data going through the camera and the CSI (no idea what does it mean). So I was wondering if a camera replacement would fix the problem or I'll have to give in to my 920's camera?

What are the symptoms? When you go to the camera app does it just show a black screen and the warning message? Think you can post a screenshot for us? I've never heard of something like this, sounds like the camera model is disconnected somehow?

[CSI, might mean Camera Serial Interface]

The symptom is a black screen with the buttons grayed. No message is shown. On the Nokia camera app there's only a total black screen which crashes some time later.

When you say soft reset+camera, are you saying you reset the camera? (Settings->Applications->photos+camera->reset camera). I had a different issue with my camera once and that fixed it. Though I would think some of the other stuff you mentioned would have rendered this solution moot.

Just tossing this out there, have you tried a 3rd party camera app? I'm not expert but it's something I would have tried.

Also did that like a thousand times and no luck. But I referred to a Soft reset presing also the camera button, which I never believed but I did it anyway.

Plus here's what the Nokia Care Suit says about the problem.

Test name:
Camera interface test

Test description:
Tests that all data lines between camera sensor and CSI receiver are functional

Result:
MINOR (should be "Okay" instead)

Result (detailed view):
Camera Model ID[2], Major Rev, Minor Rev, Manufacturer ID, Serial Number[10], Sent Frames, Received Packets[2], CRC Status[4], ECC Status[4], NVM checksum[2], NVM calculated checksum[2]

Data description:
Detailed result contains following information:
Camera Model ID (2 bytes , MSB first)
Camera major revision (1 byte)
Camera minor revision (1 byte)
Camera manufacturer ID (1 byte)
Camera serial number (10 ascii characters, if shorter filled with 0x00, by default string is NOT '\\0' terminated)
Number of sent image frames from camera (1 byte)
Number of received packets over CSI-2 data bus (2 bytes, MSB first)
CRC errors detected by the CSI-2 receiver (4 bytes, MSB first)
ECC errors detected by the CSI-2 receiver (4 bytes, MSB first)
Expected NVM checksum (2 bytes, MSB first)
Calculated NVM checksum (2 bytes, MSB first)

Method description:
Test verifies that correct amount of data has been passed from camera sensor to CSI receiver and checks all transfer errors from receiver

Already, a loooot of camera apps installed, then uninstalled and no luck either :/

I did open my entire phone as seen on the video but nothing. I will order a camera replacement from eBay and will let you know.

Was it disconnected when you opened it? I've had a 920 that had a disconnected camera and it worked find after I opened it up and reattached it.

Nope it was completely connected. I disconnected it and pugged it in again and nothing.
