Broken 640 came to new life with Creators Update

The 640 was on W10M Anniversary Update, no insider ever.

After some months everything broke: Camera cannot save photos and even worse: WIFI did not work at all.

No internet, except for mobile/4G.

Last night, tried the Creators update. Over 4G. Took some while to free some space, make a backup. The 640 tried to block me, as 4G internet is "so expensive". Well, it finally surrendered. And the update went well.

Results: camera is working again, and even better: after a soft reset, wifi also started working again. The 640 is revived.

What I learned? While I believed initially in hardware problems, especially the non-working wifi, it was all software. A borked Anniversary Update by a talentless development team. Now I hope it will not break again. The next major bug and I'm out to get an Android.

If you suffer similar problems, try it out. Install the CU, make a soft reset and if there are still problems, a hard reset. You may be positively surprised.

You could have tried hard reset with AU only in most of the times it works. If you encounter issue again( hopefully not) try backup and reset

MY both 640 worked okay for both AU and CU. It 'seems' snappier with CU though.
