....How was the trip did you see any unique windows phone stuff. Were where a bunch of people with Lumia 800's?
The trip was great. I haven't taken two weeks off in a row in a long time. A couple of different things we did this time was we went to Monte Carlo, Monaco. It's real close to Nice, France. They were setting up miles of high fencing for the Grand Prix which is in another week. It's a real ritzy area; you see a lot of brand new Ferrari's and Rolls Royce cars around. We also went up to the French Alps for a day, where they had the 1992 Winter Olympic games. There's still snow up there and we weren't prepared going up there in t-shirts.
I did see a lot of Lumia 800 phones being used, mostly by a younger crowd. All three of their major carriers had Windows advertising up in their stores. The most popular phone I saw being used was The Samsung Galaxy II, followed by the iPhone. Something unusual I've noticed in the past is bluetooth earphones are almost impossible to find and rarely used. Most people, about 98%, used the wired earphones.
Three things I would like to bring to the U.S. from France are:
1. Video calling through the carrier, rather than a 3rd party application. It works great over their 3.5G. Also, lower mobile phone rates like they have in Europe, especially if you buy the phone outright.
2. High speed trains are great. They reduce traffic, oil consumption, and they get you from point A to point B fast. They make Amtrak look like something from the Flintstones.
3. Electric cars and electric car rental. Most people in the U.S. could use an electric car for work everyday.
Here's a picture of an electric car rental place:
