Calendar issue

Seems that my 920 decided to advance all my appointments in the native calendar app to one hour ahead with DST change this past Sunday. Weird thing about is that the reminder email had the correct time, but the phone didn't. Kind of sucks since I missed an appointment this morning. Luckily I was able to change tomorrow's appointment back to its correct time, because I would be in a world crap if I missed it. I rely on this heavily and iPhone was pretty solid in this department, despite being jail broken with a ton of JB apps on it. This is my first major gripe about the phone, so I guess its doing ok :)

Has this happened to anyone else, or just me? Anyways, just a heads up for anyone else who relies on this function.

No, but it was never any issue prior to DST changover. I can check that to see if it defaulted for whatever reason. I already went through and manually changed all of my appointments to the correct times. Strange that the calendar would have a different time zone setting...seems like it would adjust along with the current time that is on the phone. Thanks for the suggestion.

there are some areas where theu dont do DST in the US I think they dont in some parts of Indiana.

I'm in Texas and we spring forward and fall back based off of CST (UTC/GMT -6). There isn't a calendar time zone setting and the phone self-adjusts it's time based off of the cell tower (or GPS, whichever). Basically, the calendar decided to advance all my appointment timings 1 hour forward. For instance, I had a medical appt today at 0900 and calendar moved it to 1000; tomorrow's appt moved from 1200 to 1300 and so on. All setting AFAIK are proper (time and date set to automatic) and the calendar doesn't possess similar settings. Anyways, this was just a friendly heads up in case it happens to anyone else.

I took my NL 920 on a cruise with me and we were in 3 different countries and were in the same time zone the equivalent of central but my appointments in the future were off an hour but when we got back to thge US the trime zone thingf sorted itself out. Maybe you gps in the phone was out of wack or something. Did you try turning it off and waiting a whil and turning it on. I know a couple of time with my 900 and my 920 I would turn iot on and be checking local scout and it would twell me I was In Richmon VA which is not very close to where I was at the time, and another time it showed that I was In New Orleans about 12 hours away.

The time zone for the calendar is in the options on calendar from outlook.com. This was mentioned as something to check for this problem on the Microsoft forums.

Thanks. I had to go to Hotmail Calendar (live acct) and set the time zone to the CST. It's still odd it would happen when DST springs forward. I just hope it doesn't happen again and now I know to go through all my appointments after the next time change.

Sorry, I should've said Hotmail, just trying to get on board with the move to Outlook. I don't understand it as well. Didn't even know there was a time zone in that calendar until the forum post mentioned it.

I have a same issue. I live in Hungary/Europe, UTC + 1 time zone. I use google calendar. The phone and the google calendar timezone settings are the same. My appointments moved after the syncronization from 10:00 to 9:00.
Any suggestion?

Same problem in Romania, after clock change to winter time . Phone is set to automatic date and i tried also with manual time set to UTC+02:00.
I use google calendar - the meetings which i introduce from the phone are shifted after few seconds one hour behind - for example i set a meeting from 22:00 and after 5 secs jumps to 21:00 ... it took some time to figure it out, i thought that i touched wrongly the hour when i made some appointments but now i seen it with my eyes how the meeting is self adjusting the hour. I checked the google calendar settings online and there i have GMT+02 time setting.
I have also a lotus notes calendar account which i export to google calendar an that works fine without shifts.

Same problem here in Belgium.
Windows phone with Google agenda.
Meetings introduced on the phone for example 08u00 are set automatically to 07u00.

How can I solve this issue?

I have the same problem in Germany. Nokia Lumia 520, I save an appointment in my calendar which should sync with my google calendar. The time of the saved appointment moves back one hour from what I input into the phone. If I save an appointment with my pc on my google calendar it will update to the phone correctly. My phone is set to manual time zone (I turned off the automatic function), and still the problem persists.

This is a major flaw which took me a while to discover it was happening, which means many appointments have been saved and are now wrong and I do not know which ones. The troubleing thing is with new users is, you type in the time, save it, it shows up correctly on the calendar in the phone and about a minute later the time changes (AFTER YOU SAVED IT (lots of cuss words here about this software)).

How has anyone solved this?

I have just noticed this issue in my Lumia 920. I have a Gmail account and when I manually add something in my calendar on the phone, it automatically pushes it back 1 hour. So say for example I add: 'Meeting with Dave' at 11:00am, it automatically moves back to 10:00am. This needs to be fixed because it's an error and could potentially cause a lot of hassle for alot of people.

Can we get some help with this ongoing problem? I still have these automatic shifts in time in my calendar. The calendar is the second most important function after the ability to call. This has to be fixed. Can a person from Nokia or MSWindows please respond.

I had this same problem on Lumia 928 with two different Google calendars only. One was a personal gmail and one was a work domain hosted by google apps. The outlook calendar didn't have this problem.
With Lumia Black update problem appears to have been corrected.
As a work around, try changing your settings, date + time <> automatically and see if this corrects things until an update happens to your phone. I had mine set to automatically with Verizon and turning it off to be manually set stopped my appointments from gmail calendars from moving one hour earlier.

First and definitely foremost, I want to thank the community for your attention to this issue. After investigation, we can say that Microsoft is aware of the issue and tracking it for a future update. If I am made aware of additional information regarding this issue, I will update this thread.

For the time being, the following work-around can be used as I've confirmed that the following settings do not shift calendar events:
1.Settings > Date+time,
2.Change Set Automatically to Off
3.Time zone > select Co-oridinated Universal Time (UTC)
4.Adjust the time to match the current time in their location

Thanks again,

MikeDano

Found that here. WP8 calendar incorrectly shifts entries by 1 hour during DST

Setting my calendar to Coordinate UTC doesn't work either. It messes up all my calendar appointments previously established by the same difference of where the UTC puts the time to where it should be in my current time zone. Say I have a 12PM appointment and when I change the settings to UTC I need to manually enter in the time 3 hours later than what it suggests I then have every appointment in my calendar off by 3 hours later as well. I don't know why this phone can be so terrific one day and so horrible the next.

I agree Janda45, and at the same time they, the MS8 Phone people, do not write about it in these forums or fix the problem. It is too big and important of a problem to let go, I tell everyone how crappy this part of my phone is. It bugs me and my next phone will not have this problem.

That is very strange indeed. I have not experienced this issue on my current 920 or any other WP device. I checked my settings for date + time and 24 hours is off and set automatically is on. Have you checked the settings on your Google calendar or outlook.com settings.? Perhaps that's where the issue lies.
