Call me a skeptic with these "sellouts" and "overwhelming demand"

Even if the sell outs are due to "low supply", that's still impressive. Imagine the articles or hater comments if it wasn't selling well (regardless of supply). We wouldn't hear the end of it.

The 920 seems to be doing really well so far worldwide, And that's not counting China Mobile. That cartier alone will probably sell a few million 920's.

Being that WP7 sold soo poorly, i honest can't imagine the telcos ordered that many units.

They'll have used their previous WP7 sales figures, then ordered in a reasonable quantity of phones based on that.

If the telcos have any sense, they'll be using the interest received to generate their next sales order.

I would hope Nokia & HTC have warehouses of WP8 units ready to ship out the door, so any non-fulfilled orders can be filled pretty quickly.

I hope the initial momentum is maintained, as WP8 looks off to a reasonable start, and that'll hopefully peak the enthusiasm of developers, and we can start closing the app gap.

I went into a local ATT store in the Portland area to check out the 920 and I was asking the rep if they were selling well. He said they were sold out and then quickly added that they only received 3 black models to the store and he had no idea when they were going to get more. He did say however, that a lot of people have been asking about it and that on opening day he would have easily sold 15 had the stock been there.

see that kind of crap pisses me off because they will never get those 15 sales back, those people will just get something else. The 920 is a curiosity phone people are willing to take a chance on but not willing to wait around for.

There is more demand than phones right now, however I don't think they had that many available in the first place. So the reports are technically correct.
