Call+SMS blocking

I have the latest update, and have turned on the Call+SMS blocking and am trying to block a number. Does it only work with direct SMS messages, and not group messages? I have tried restarting the phone, but continue to receive text messages from a particular number.

It works with only with direct SMS messages and direct phone calls. Dial the number of the person you want to block and disconnect just before the call connects. Then hold down and select 'Block this number'.
