my only hope is that my verizon store has it since it's not a corporate verizon store. they didn't have the iphone when it 1st came out so here's hoping

If they didn't have the iPhone immediately, I wouldn't count on them having this phone either.

Also, for those of you who do use corporate stores......don't be surprised if there are no more then ten phones in stock. I hope I'm surprised and am wrong on this, but I have a feeling, from past experience, that this may be accurate.

I wouldn't be waiting for/looking for any kind of "announcement". You should see something on the website tomorrow or Wednesday, and I think that's about all it will amount to.

So true. On launch day, most AT&T stores only had three of each model (Focus & Surround) although they were able to backfill quickly. Online ordering might be a better route if there is a rush on any particular store. Easier to keep the excess inventory in one place for quick deployment.

The best buy site showed 600, but it was probably a placeholder.

I'd guess it will be similar to the off contract price of any $200 subsidised device.

I really hope something happens this week I have till Friday to return my iPhone. I almost just wanna return it now and wait for the trophy to get released but I don't wanna be phoneless. So is the 12th still just a hear say date or what.

I just went to my non-corporate verizon store and all they had was they knew the name but no release date. No big surprise there but still I wished there was something they knew.

I don't know if they hate wp7 or what I have called a couple people today and all I got was they won't know until it is launched. But I'm going to return my iPhone as we speak and use my peice of s*** fascinate until this thing is launched I really am not liking the iPhone. I want wp7 so bad Im really hoping for the 12th.

Went into both corporate stores close to me this morning. Mind you, I wanted to play the sympathy card to see what I could find out. I broke my leg and ankle in mid Feb. and am still wearing a boot and using a walker. I purposely parked in the HC space in front of both stores.

I went in and said that rumor has it the WP7 phone would be introduced this week and I wanted to see if I could get one early since getting out and about is not so easy. When I said WP7 phone, I got the deer in the headlights look. Both store managers said they knew it was coming but didn't know when and did not have stock in the store as yet. This included the intro signs to put up and none of the accessories they would normally have.

I left thinking that May 12 is a good date but maybe not 2011. I was really left with an empty feeling.

yeah basically that's how I felt leaving the verizon store. Maybe the 19th would be a better date :*(

To answer some of your points: out of all the phones Verizon carries, very very few have any kind of elaborate intro to the public. Just like someone else mentioned, this phone will just show up with little to no fanfare. It's no diss towards Windows or its users/followers, its simply how our business is conducted. As I said much earlier in this thread, the phone and gadget websites blow phone releases in to something they are not. As far as reps not knowing about it, I'm one of less than 5 people in a building full of over 200 people that know anything about this phone. We have had Windows 7 training, but it wasnt model specific.When its a low key phone launch, there is very little info passed on to the reps. So the reps and managers aren't stupid, they truly don't know.
