Calling problems

Hey ..
I have a windows 8 phone with an English SIM card. I spent a lot of time in Spain (tenerife) and I can make and revive calls and texts to English numbers. And I can make and revive texts from Spanish numbers but I can only text Spanish can not make calls to them.

I have been in all my settings and can't find a solution to the problem.

It would be very helpful if anyone can shed light on what I am not seeing.

Try disabling the option ASSIST IN INTERNATIONAL CALLING

sent either from my Nokia Lumia 820 or HTC Desire HD

Thank you I will try that. It's just strange that I can text Spanish numbers but not ring them.
