While I'm not a huge photo taker, I find it really annoying to snap one and have this purple tint above it. I've noticed that my camera cover has tiny scratches in the center. I'm pretty sure that's what is causing the purple tint maybe the reflection of the light.

Will Nokia be covering this or should I do it on my own?

My phone have the same fault, except for the purple tint (haven't noticed it at least). It's very annoying how they made the camera stick out, its a scratch magnet.they could have at least had the lens sink in a bit like on the 830. I say its a design flaw.

I don't know if this is related. I used to have a phone case that cause this problem. I switched out that particular phone case or use the phone without case, problem went out. Again, it might not related to your problem.

If they went with the L830's lens design, the phone would've been a lot thicker and heavier.. Might as thick as the L930.. Or a smaller sensor which means the image quality will degraded for sure.. So I wouldn't say it's a design flaw. Even the iphone 6 plus has a camera hump on it back.. That's what covers are made for.. To protect the phone.. I've been using my L1520 for 6 months now and not even a single scratch on the screen.. Let alone the camera lens.

Exactly!! I'll try to bring it to Nokia Care to see if they can replace it. If not maybe I just have to live with it until July of next year. The purple tint isn't bad but it's annoying af. It's not as bad as the iPhone 5 purple tint that's for sure.

I don't think that's the problem for me anyways since I use my phone almost naked all the time. It was just two weeks ago that I bought a case..

No scratches on my screen as well but the camera cover has lots of it. I probably need a camera cover protector. The iPhone 6's camera cover is sapphire I believe which is very sturdy.

Don't get me wrong, the 1520 is amazingly built but the camera cover is very scratch prone. I didn't mind it before since it doesn't really damage the photos.

Hi bro.. I'm having a small purple dot at about the center of the camera when taking photos... Is that what u are taking about... I'm wondering cuz I can't see any scratches on the lens of the camera.. This thing started to happen to me on 15th November .. From 14th Nov until now the phone didn't fall to be the cause of the problem...my phone hasn't fallen for about 3 or 2 months..i really don't know..i hope our problem is software related not hardware..
(( btw I use Lumia 820 ))

Thanks bro. Hopefully this is software related. I was wondering the same since this didn't really show up until the recent update a few days ago..

Don't new housings come with the camera cover part? You can pick up an entirely new housing for like 20 bucks on eBay.

yeah I thought about the update too...since I'm a Super fan of taking photos...having this problem really hurts :/ :(

Unfortunately Nokia won't cover this as it was sold in brand new condition. Its up to the consumer to look after the phone. Its a bit like scratching your car then asking the car manufacturer to repair it for free. Why should they just because someone didn't take care of it (not meaning to sound rough on you) I had my 1520 for 9 months and not one scratch on anything as I kept it in a case that stops the camera touching anything while laying down flat

And what about having same problem without any scratches at the camera lens?

Yeah that's what I thought too. I hope I could just buy the parts and they'd assemble it.

Jomarr, I will try using Lumia software recovery to return back to official Cyan without the previous updates,if the problem goes..i WILL post here saying the result :)

Thank you, brother. I will be following this thread.

Ok, now I know the reason of my problem..... When I was trying to see how the GREEN Laser is going to be shown when recorded by a camera, I found that it made More Purple Dots!!! Then I remembered that a friend of mine was aiming the laser at my camera about 3 days ago, so I realized the reason why I'm having the problem. So, care guys, never point your lasers on your camera... I've learnt the lesson...

Thank you, Ahmad .

I went down to Nokia Care and they told me that it might be the sensor. They need my phone for 3-4 weeks wtf. I can't leave my phone there for the holidays. I'll give it to them on January.

Thanks guys.
