Camera grip not charging

I bought a camera grip for my 1020 on Amazon (I'm going on a trip), but it doesn't seem to want to charge. Does anyone know if there's a trick to charging these, or should I return it and try to get a different one?

give it a couple of hours or try a different charger

Done both things. Tried every combo of charger and cable I could. The light goes on for a few seconds, then off.

then it looks like you've got a defective unit - when you put it on charge, is it just one light switching on or all 4?
