Can 512 MB ram devices run Windows 10?

I'm using Lumia 520 and I want to know my 512 MB ram device can update to Windows 10.

Yes it can but you probably can not use all new features.

I wouldn't be too sure about that. There have been some twitter remarks from the Windows 10 team that not all WP8 devices will be able to run Windows 10. They have named some devices that will definitely be able to run Windows 10, among them even some low cost devices, but they all had in common that they had 1GB of RAM. So it might be that Windows 10 will only run on phones with at least 1GB of RAM. No official word from MS on this, but this is what was written (guessed) in a news article here.

There was a demo of it on 635 with 512MB RAM. But yes, all will become clear over the next month or two.

I'm sure low-powered units will get the update, but as Harrie-S stated, it probably won't have some of the new features. The same applies to iOS devices...

I think it said that not all Lumias will be getting it which could imply the pre WP8 phones but that is just a wild guess

It will be, I'm pretty sure of it, Microsoft cannot afford to lose customers on lower end devices.

Huh well, maybe you are right. We'll probably know soon. It's just that previously they claimed that "all lumias" will get Win10, and lately they said "most lumias" will get Win10 - without saying what the restrictions are. So on some sites it was assumed that RAM might be a factor. But that is just guessing of course. Maybe they are just more cautious because of the carrier problem (maybe not all carriers will deliver Win10 updates to their customers).

There is a system requirements page. They either have more than one preview or I would suggest upgrading to a 1gb device.

I can't find that page. When I click the "Your phone meets the requirements" button a page was loaded and it's says: Windows 10 for phones starts in February. And no requirements.
