Hi there!

I'm about to buy a used Lumia 950 I saw advertised on craiglist. I was just wondering if it is possible for a manufacturer unlocked phone such as all Lumias, to be blacklisted or this possibility doesn't exist.
In case it is possible, can a document like a purchase receipt act as a warranty?

Many thanks!

I'm not clear on that, but just pull up that phone's IMEI or ESN and check it with a website like Swappa which, while it is a phone marketplace, it has an ESN check tool.

and if you REALLY want to be sure, power it up, blow through setup and check the IMEI/ESN in the Settings.

Yep. I understand what you mean, but, even if I check it now with the IMEI number, if the seller keeps the number with him, he can always screw me by blacklisting it, if possible. That's what I'm afraid of.

I gotta say that if you're that worried about making this purchase from this seller, you should probably just look elsewhere. There are loads of them on eBay, Swappa, and in the forums here that are safe to buy.

Craigslist is notoriously a gamble for purchasing phones.

Any phone can be blacklisted by being reported stolen. Carrier branded, factory unlocked, with service, without service, stolen from a purse, "fallen off the back of a truck," new, old, working, not working...

thanks for the heads up guys!
pankaj981 I've just checked the marketplace, is a pretty good offer, but i live in Canada... taking into account shipment and the currency exchange I think I'd be better to buy it straight from microsoft store while trading my old 925.
