Can anyone give me some pointer for the Lumia?

Hi All,

I got this beautiful device in my hand now. This is my first ever smart phone in my life. So guys please help me with the below.

1. Do i need scratch guard and flip cover to protect this device, knowing that it has gorilla glass 3 for the same purpose. Is it advisable to use scratch card? And also please let me know the suitable flip cover for this device. I have checked in microsoft website accessories for this device, they dont have one. Please suggest me suitable cover.

2. Can you please advise the must have apps for this device, i don't mind if it is paid app. I can purchase it. But suggest me the best apps. apps for camera, apps for video and apps for camera. And also any other important apps, i don't know because i have never used a smartphone before.

3. Do i need to have an antivirus app for this device? I won avast for my desktop, If i need to have antivirus for the mobile device too, is avast is advisable? Or please let me know the best antivirus for my lumia 730.

you can use scratch guard for your own satisfaction else there is no need.
You might want to have Lumia camera, Lumia cinemagraph, Facebook, WhatsApp, Zomato, 6tag (instagram), 6snap (snapchat) and other social networks you use.
and you don't need an antivirus in this phone cause you cant get a virus on this phone (Windows Phone rocks! ^_^)

Having a screen protector gives you peace of mind. It's not just scratches to worry about. Scratching has been greatly reduced in the modern glass used, but microgrit in a pocket can still scratch. More important is the large surface area and a fall can start a crack even if the phone lands other than glass down. Corner and edge drops are known for this as it sends a concentrated "shock" into the screen. A plastic sheet style protector helps reinforce the screen. An anti-glare one might help as well for viewing the OLED screen on a 730 in bright sunlight.

That's very open ended. Different users have different needs. Pranshul Sood recommended a slew of social media apps. I wouldn't know about any of them as I don't use that stuff. #1 Toolkit is cool. Check that out for some utility. And that's what a lot of users want, utility. Think about what you want from your smart device - search the store for broad catagories rather than specific names. It's about what you want the phone to do. Want to increase your music collection astronomically? Search for "streaming music." Want to turn your phone into a weather station? Search "weather."

Read the reviews and look at the ratings. Examine the App descriptions. Just look through the broad categories already set up in the App Store.

You mentioned photography. Check out ProShot, Black, Sophie Lens HD and others by searching the Store for "photography." Read up on things in the Photography Forums here at Windows Central. Look into the 730 forum and explore the whole board here. Lots of great discussions are happening all over the board. And visit the News Blog area of Windows Central. You came to the right place. There is a ton of info. Too much to be contained in this one thread no matter how many try and help you here. Get out in the board and join in.

As of right now, there is no Anti-Virus for Windows Phone. The system itself is pretty restricted for 3rd party apps to access things they should not and the OS does a good job of sandboxing stuff. Play smart on your browser is probably the best advice in this area. I'm not one to say people don't need AV, it just isn't in existence on Windows Phone right now and no need has been proven...
