Can I adjust the screen's color temperature on WP8?

Windows RT will never be supposed to run "legacy" applications, same as Windows Phone 8 - It's not designed to run classic desktop application either. As of today, Windows RT and Windows Phone are (at least) as locked as an Apple iOS. But on the latter, you can at least get out if it by jailbreaking. Noone ever managed to do this on Windows RT or Windows Phone 8. On one hand, this shows how secure the system is. On the other, in case you want to customize something, the only choice left is a jailbroken iOS or Android device.

Thank you for confirming f.lux runs on the Surface Pro. In the end, not only the operating system but also the graphic drivers matter. The Intel Atom ("Clover Trail") tablets also run a full Windows 8 but cannot run f.lux because of the extremely limited graphic drivers by Intel. But that's another story...

full Windows programs will never run on the Surface RT because of a completely different architecture

think of when some things had issues with 32 - 64bit, well, ARM is completely different

This is not exactly true... For sone apps it would only be a simple recompile...also apps that are 100% built on .Net 4x run just fine on a "jailbroke" windows RT

Here is a link to many traditional windows desktop applications that have either been recompiled or are fully .Net 4.0 managed code and run without the need to be recompiled:

ah thanks for the clarification, i just remembered that some only need a recompile for ARM
but i did not know about the .net compatibilty, thanks for showing us!

May I bump this topic, I have f.lux on my iPad 2 and I wish I had it on my droid, I use Twilight for that, but yeah if I could get a phone that turns the color temp way down like f.lux I would buy it, as long as it's also easy to use!
