Can I get some email advice please?

email advice please

Have set up an email account (virginmedia.com) on my 535 using recommended POP settings etc.
However the only emails I get are "Urgent Unread" in inbox.
Something must be working OK to get these, but why am I not getting all emails and what do I need to change to achieve that.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Just to add that once opened and closed, the email will no longer be visible, so has to be answered when first opened or not at all, very frustrating.
How do I get emails to stay accessible?

In Outlook mail app press ...
go setings, check [ ] Always download full message and internet images, confirm change
next go to sync setings, Download email from, choose any time (if want to sync all your mail to phone), or the last month if you have too much mail, confirm change, and go back to inbox, press sync, emails in inbox should appear, press ...
than go to folders, and choose from what folder you want to read the mail from (inbox, sent, drafts ...)

tried that, but still the same - changing setting as suggested and after syncing for 7 days emails and selecting inbox folder, heading still says "all unread urgent" and where list should be just says "No urgent messages".

did you check [ ] Always download full message and internet images in settings?
make sure that you confirm the change at the bottom of the screen
also try last 2 weeks, or the last month,

Yes - I checked that Always download full message and internet images box is ticked. Also tried changing time period, but made no difference.
