Can I manually install a previous version of an app?

So right now, the newest version of the app, 6tag, is sort of messed up and I wanted to revert my phone to the previous version.

I found what is (supposedly) the previous version .xap file, so I copy to my phone (downloads folder) and go to the Store, and then press the "more" dots, and I see "Install local app", but when I do, I get a message saying that this may be a older version and if I choose to install it, the later version will be made available. But, I don't see anything else on the screen to continue and install the older version!

And, yes, I uninstalled the latest version already.

Is this possible to do?

Thanks.

Didn't work. I get the same screen saying there is a newer version and that if I continue, an update will be made available, but (again) there is no way to continue. Also, with no data connection at all, an error comes up saying the store isn't available and dumps me out of Store and back to the start screen.

Exactly! Without internet you cannot use the store.
