Can I restore my backed up Whatsapp chats if i flash my 1520 through Nokia Software Recovery?

I want to remove my sd card and flash my 1520 back to Cyan via Nokia (Lumia) Software Recovery so that I can uninstall the Developer Preview of Denim. But once I'm back on Cyan and put my sd card back in, will I be able to restore my WhatsApp chats?

Yes.
Open WhatsApp Go to SETTINGS (...) > chat settings > and push on Backup.
So if you reinstall whatapp you have your chat history again
