Can I use a Windows Phone to develop an app?

Please excuse my question if it's obviously stupid, but I quite fancy developing my own app and have registered my phone with Microsoft Development.

Whilst I know I can develop an app on a computer, can I also perform the initial development on my phone?

If your trying to build an app for the windows phone store you have to make it on your pc/mac then export it as a .xap file onto your phone for use. You cant build an app on your phone.

Hey John, now you've made me really curious,.. You mean, developing an app, with an app?

Developing an app means typing a lot of sourcecode... thats not very comfortable on a Phone.

Why would you want this?

I guess you can create the project on your PC then use some service like bitbucket to host it and then use a git client on your phone or tablet. But I agree to the poster over my, why would you want to develop on a phone. I can see how you would want to do this on a Surface but not a phone...

TouchDevelop | Windows Phone Apps+Games Store (United States)

Touch develop is good for some things, but it's a bit basic in areas, and the quality of apps will be less than that from Visual Studio.

I wish touchDevelop was more like visual studio. Give me a UI designer and some UI templates, please. touchDevelop is severely lacking when it comes to designing an interface and the quality of interfaces you can make.
