Can I use an unlocked US version of the Lumia 640 when traveling in England?

I will be studying in England all next year so naturally i will have to get a cell phone. I would like to know if i can used an unlocked american version while i am over there? Also will there be any drawbacks i should be aware of and what service is best to use?

You will be fine for 3G/H+. Don't expect LTE.

I could not say what service would be best, someone from that side of the pond should chime in.

Drawbacks? While not as horrid and bland as Canadian cooking, British food goes by weird names that really have you scratching your head wondering what on earth their food could possibly be made from...

As long as GSM compatible you'll be fine, not Verizon. LTE/4G readily available now via EE/Vodafone/O2
As for the food here, previous poster has a point however it must be stressed over here typically won't try to kill you with portion sizes!
Have a look at a local delicacy from my region, a 'chicken parmo'!!:smile:
