Can I view the contact details in People without dialing that number?

When I search for some contact there is no option to view the details of the contact. The only way to view the details is to make a call to that particular number and view the details in Call history, Phone app. Is there any other way to view the contact details directly without dialing the number?

Open People, and tap on a contact's name. You'll see their details, as shown here.
