Cannot get Cortana app to show up in 8.1 (Canada)

Hi there,

I have been trying to get Cortana to show up on my HTC 8X by changing language, region and speech settings to US, however each time I reboot, she fails to show up (both in the apps list and through holding the search button).

Can you please help?

There appears to be some issues with some HTCs and trying to change the language in WP8.1.

I haven't seen or heard of a solution as of yet.

That doesn't work for phones that don't have English-US as a phone language option in the ROM, namely all the non-US HTC phones.
