I am trying to sync my Google account to Windows Phone 8.1, which has been updated to the latest. I have Two-Step Verification enabled which I cannot simply turn off because this is a work account, and it is mandatory to have for our company. Before the update, I would simply generate an app-specific password using Google. Now, that step is impossible since Windows directs me through the browser to log in. Unfortunately, I cannot use the app-specific password (Google immediately tells me not to when I try). So, I then use my regular password, it asks for my two-step verification (which sends me a text code, which I enter), then I give Windows all the needed permissions. It starts syncing, then I get a notification saying that Google needs my attention. I go to it, and am forced through the online login process again. It just keeps repeating. I tried manually setting up (also using the app-specific password), but it just syncs and syncs and syncs, then says, "Your Google Password is incorrect." Please help.

Update: Calendar & contacts now syncing. Emails still not!!

Since it's a work account I'm assuming you're using Google Apps. In which case you should be able to setup a Manual Exchange account (which uses ActiveSync) and have an app-specific password. Not sure if you've tried that path although I see you said you did a manual setup - just use Exchange instead of a Google account type.

Exactly.. Create an app specific password for your google account.
