Can't access hotmail emails on Nokia Lumia 735

[Windows Central Question]

My hotmail is added as a Microsoft Account to my Nokia Lumia 735, with the email icon showing up on my phone's home page with the number of emails beside it.
However, when I swipe to read the emails it doesn't show them.

I have a work email and gmail account also set up and they both work fine!

I'd be grateful for any help!!
