I get tired of having to correct the spelling manually. If I want to text or e-mail a naughty word, why does it matter?

I just wanna duck

It's quite amusing actually. Should make for quite the DYAC moment.

When I type the fbomb it never gets autocorrected.

I like dictating a txt message and it turns the fbomb into %#@*

Bleepity bleepin bleep bleep

Exactly. why do they care, I wanted to add the f word but they don't allow me. This needs to be corrected in the next update!

It confuses me, if you can manually type ****, then you might as well be able to add it to dictionary. If you can pronounce ****, then the dictation service might as well show it to you rather than censor it.

EDIT: Ironically, this forum censored me.

I'm just guessing, but my thought is that maybe Microsoft won't let people add the f-word to the custom dictionary due to accidentally sending it in business correspondence. If one adds it manually, it would be deliberate and not accidental. Adding it manually would definitely make it harder to send it to the boss by mistake.

I really want to try seeing what my WP does if I drop the f nuke via dictation... You say it censors it but I want to see how.

Re: Dear Microsoft, if I want to add vulgar words and profanity to my personal dictionary, FN let me

when the message comes up it just becomes @#@*$

Also, MS would have to deal with complaining if duck autocorrected to %&$#. Easier to avoid the whole thing, make us do the correcting.

I don't need a nanny taking care of my typos. I did just fine on BlackBerry and Android. I'll do fine on WP. Just let me do what I want. If I make a mistake and send the f bomb to someone when I'm texting about ducks, I'll man up and take responsibility for it.

uhm how and when does this censorship happen? when i saw this topic i texted myself the f word and the text went through (and i recieved it) without being corrected or censored...

You may take responsibility for it, but most won't. If they can blame it on Microsoft they will, especially in ridiculously litigious countries like America lol.

Unfortunatly, there are too many folks out there that look for and seem to find the smallest reason to sue. I agree, I don't know how many times I sent the wrong word, both funny and some not so funny. But if I was some stuck up righteous *****, I would sue becuse I am unable to censer myself.

Just noticed this now. I couldn't believe it. Swear words in Norway aren't very vulgar and you can freely say them on TV for instance. It feels fairly insulting to me to have some kind of linguistic fundamentalists control my phone's dictionary from an office on the other side of the planet!

Maybe they are just providing an inspirational means for you to lead a better way of life. Just a thought...

But hey, if I wanted to throw-down some good'ole cussin on someone then I'm likely not in the mood to be looking for spelling errors. So in a way I agree.

Were I live, swearing is considered a creative and colorful way of using the language. Creative expression. Thankfully you cannot sue anobody in this part of the world for having a dictionary with bad words in it. Yet.
