Can't believe the game deals are off

Anyone else noticed this? Assassins creed was 1.49p and batman and Spiderman was 2.00 each. Had 18 pounds left on my wallet and now found out the games have doubled in price... Had no idea it was a limited edition sale. Anyone else missed out? Wondering if I should get the mass effect while I can but still 50/50 about if I would like the game after playing the demo
