Can't change Text Ringtone

No matter what is I set the text ringtone to, it will only use the default text ringtone when I receive a new message. Anyone else experiencing this?

Nope, no issues here - Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1.

Have you tried checking for updates, or restarting your phone?

And are you referring to the general Text Ringtone in the settings, or the custom Text Ringtone for each contact?

Yep. I've tried all those. I'm not trying to make a custom one. I'm just selecting different text ringtone from the supplied manufacturer ones and while i can sample listen to them, switching to any of them died nothing when i get an actual text.

They are the ringtones that come stock with the Windows Phone OS. Not sure. What ever Microsoft ships the stock OS with.

Save the particular ringtone in phone memory under ringtones folder then u can see it in the settings menu

Right, thanks. I misread your statement - I thought you WERE trying to make a custom one. My mistake. :smile:

Not sure what's going on, then. What phone are you using? Is this feature absolutely critical? You may want to try creating a custom one (for the sake of debugging) by copying any audio file (.mp3 or .wav) into the Ringtones folder, and see if that would work. I'm not sure, though, why a custom tone would work while a default tone won't.
