2 then installation do ok
3 after restarting its go installing all go ok until 75% its go blue screen withe error name
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL ...
then windows go running under my version 14936

Removing any non-Microsoft Antivirus or Anti-malware software should allow you to update to 14942, BUT Win 10 will crash if you then reinstall such software. I'm sticking with 14936 until a fix comes along.

hi all,
after a weekend of trying to get 2 machines a laptop and a windows 10 pc and having them both fail installation with a BSOD i read this forum and saw about removing antivirus. Just turning off the antivirus doesnt work you physically have to uninstall and it will allow the windows insider preview 14942 to install properly. I will be sending feedback to microsoft about this problem because i also read that even after install if you reinstall the antivirus it will BSOD.
This is an insider preview thus problems like this are expected.
You have to physically remove the antivirus software. I was using the antivirus provided by my isp which is powered by f-secure

I had to skip this build. Couldn't load the desktop or anything after logging in. Seems like the profile got messed up. When restarting the PC it just automatic restored the previous build. Tried it a couple of times and just gave it up. Waiting for the next build.

My ASUS ROG laptop is on build 14931 (Fast Ring). Got update for 14942 last night. Install hung at 81% for several hours. I do have Norton installed but will not remove it just to get an OS build updated. I ended up powering laptop off and OS has stayed at 14931. I may cancel Insider as it has been very hit & miss of late. Just not sure what is best course of action to revert back to a production release at this time.

For the benefit of anybody else facing this problem, and to confirm the solutions presented on this page, here is my experience for what it's worth.
I wanted to upgrade my two PC's (both were already upgraded to Build 14936).
I was pleased to find the German webpage on deskmodder.de and downloaded the Build 14942 ISOs in both the 64 bit version (for my Dell Inspiron laptop) and 32 bit (for my sub-$100 Chuwi Hi8 Pro tablet which I had received with an earlier Windows 10 build installed I forget which(probably as a result of Microsoft almost giving Windows away to Chinese tablet makers:
It is a fine machine by the way that I can highly recommend). I extracted the files from the ISOs then I successfully ran setup.exe on the Dell (I had already tried the "internal" Windows Update procedure on the Chuwi twice and both times it had stuck at 81%,I found that restarting only restored build 14936) I then tried set.exe from the 32 bit file set and again it stuck at 81% So on a whim I asked Mr Google about that 81% fault and was surprised to find this forum and in another thread at
http://forums.windowscentral.com/windows-10-insider-preview/441954-14942-wont-install.html
On that page I noted the advice about removing anti virus software.
The Dell was actually running Windows 10 on a newly installed hard drive without any 3rd part ant-virus, whereas the Chuwi had both Malwarebytes and free AVG installed.I easily uninstalled MWB but AVG prove difficult eventually I discovered on an AVG support page the AVG Remover Tool and got AVG to uninstall.Build 14942 then successfully upgraded the Chuwi.
