I just discovered last night that you cannot edit an Excel spreadsheet if it has wide columns.
Per Microsoft: Microsoft Office Mobile FAQ | Windows Phone How-to (United States)
You might not be able to edit a Microsoft Office document on your phone depending on what's in it or how it was last saved. Here are some of the more common things that make a document read-only on your phone.
Microsoft Excel workbooks are read-only if they have:
Amongst other things - Large column or row widths.
The really annoying thing about this is the free Excel clone app on the iPhone has no problem opening, displaying, and editing the same spreadsheet.
Why does Microsoft do this to us? What's the point of bragging about Windows Phone 8 including MS Office for free if it can't edit a spreadsheet as well as a free iPhone app? This is just crazy.
End of rant. - Mark
