Hi,

Recently, my cortana is somehow disabled and I can't re-enable it. There is only search app. In the settings, there is no option about cortana. I did a clean install, and still I can't enable it. My all region and language options are for en-us. (I'm using 14393 Education btw.)

How can I solve this?

After installing the anniversary update, Cortana was also disabled on my surface.
I got it back by editting the registry. I'm playing around with the new lockscreen cortana. Please don't do this if you think the windows registry is some type of MS wedding service.

I enabled one setting found in HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Search
Set BingSearchEnabled to 1

what OS are you on?
