Hi guys,

I love my Lumia 822 and it has been serving me well however, about 3 weeks ago I noticed that battery was discharging quicker than normal.

Take note that my phone's on battery saver mode, brightness was set to low, Data/wifi/bluetooth/location/tap+send/glance/double tap to wake was off. Basically everything that could save battery was done.

After I play fairly simple games such as Frozen Free Fall, Where's My Water or Kinectimals for 10mins.
Battery Discharge rate reaches 30% sometimes 35% an hour!!

I went on uninstalling apps and already reset my phone 3 times.
I even replaced the battery.

The problem still persists.
Seems like my phone has a bug in the OS that's making it drain battery quickly :(

It basically is the OS. Windows Phone 8.1 should fix this and many other bugs. I know it is annoying, the same thing is happening with my Lumia 1520

Did you check the "background tasks" [setting->applications (swipe right to left)->background task] ???

select the apps and uncheck. restart your phone. might fix the problem.

Backgroundd task is the problem!
I remember than my battery shorted its life, but checking Background Task solved my problem.

Yep all background tasks is blocked. Still no dice

Did you turn off Bluetooth, NFC?
What about your internet connection? I have a Nokia Lumia 822 and when i forced to 3G and avoid 4G my battery run almost 2 days!

Update:
Try Nokia Software Udapter or Nokia Care and reinstall your OS

goto cellular setting -> turn off data connection and roaming setting.

then try changing the 'Highest Connection speed' to 2G/3G. (probably this will fix it.) Also make sure network selection is 'Automatic' and limited Wi-Fi connectivity has 'don't use cellular data'

You might also check touch screen sensitivity. go to settings-> touch-> set it to 'normal' and turn off double tap to wake.

hehe, thanks everyone.
As I have stated in my first post, I already fixed every setting that could help save battery to no avail.

Just played about 20mins of Mass Effect Infiltrator earlier and found my battery to be discharging at 38% per hour.

Both my wife's and mine have had the same problem. Like you I have tried almost everything. Using the Battery Performance app I have found it to discharge at about 10%/hr even just sitting there with background tasks blocked, no bluetooth, no nfc, limited to 2g data, doesn't matter. I was thinking the battery is shot but if others are seeing the same thing maybe that isn't the case.

My battery on my 925 was giving me drainage at a rapid rate a few days ago and i just about done everything to try and stop the drain, i hard reset it for the 2nd time and tried a few different things Im not sure what has fixed it but I'm now getting much better battery life, if you have any email setup and it always syncing either stop this or just use one important email address to see if it addresses the battery drain also turn off your voicemail, and if possible download an app updater and whatever app needs updated do so because after i done all this and updated my main Nokia settings apps it seemed to have got the battery back in gear. That's just my opinion though.

Try looking at Data Sense. Look at the detail showing by app. I've used this before, on the theory that if you find who's using the data, there's a good chance you'll find who's using the battery.

Never had a battery issue on my 822 till just the other day, from the time I left my home 7:15am @ 99% battery to 8:20am with no use it dropped to 18% and shut off. I started back up shut down all background task put on charge and it seems like it never happened! I did check data sense but nothing stood out.

I think I might have found my culprit - either Bing Weather or Bing sports. Uninstalled both and now it seems to be doing great.

Thought I figured it out, but no luck. Might do a hard reset with only the apps I "need", and see if that is any better. I really hate doing that though.

I hv Lumia 920 and its starts draining battery few days before.so I was wondering what is the problem, then I realized that if I put the volume at zero the battery won't drain quickly as I expected and it works perfectly and I suggest you all do the same thing as I did.
