Can't get Yahoo Mail to connect to Outlook RT 2013 on Surface RT 8.1

I have Outlook 2013 on my PC and, although it was a hassle, I was able to get Yahoo Mail to connect to Outlook via imap. I just installed Windows RT 8.1 on my Surface RT but I can't get Yahoo Mail to connect to it (on a side note, the new Mail app in Windows 8.1 is gorgeous and connects to Yahoo Mail just fine). It doesn't give me the option to use imap; only pop, and pop is just not connecting even though I've scoured the 'Net for all the proper port numbers and settings.

Thats why they make the Yahoo mail app

Microsoft's Mail app in 8.1 is gorgeous and integrates with outlook.com, yahoo.com, and (evil) gmail.com without problem. But Yahoo mail is stubborn when it comes to integration into the Office version of Outlook. I have no interest in using the Yahoo Mail app. I'd just use Microsoft's Mail app instead.

I can't get my blueyonder email account to connect unless I use the basic html. Why???? then when my account is open it shuts down and goes back to tile screen.

I am having the same problem and instead of other users providing obnoxious answers, it would be wonderful if users of this forum would actually answer the question with helpful, detailed and specific answers. To the manager of this forum... I am moving on with my Google search to find my answer, I will not come back to your site. There are thousands of websites/forums which will provide my answer, but if you are serious about having a GREAT site, you need to insure you monitor your forums so that your users are providing VALUE. Google is constantly upgrading their algorithms so that websites, which actually help users, are pushed to the top. This site has provided no value at least for my needs, so hopefully your top ranking will soon be adjusted accordingly.

Can anyone answer this question with helpful facts, rather than sarcasm?

Lol. Good luck. This website is where I found out how to convert the gimped Nokia 1520 to a Qi enabled device with detailed diagrams, pictures, and a parts list. If you know of a Windows Phone forum where you can get better cutting edge data be sure to come back and let the rest of us know.

Regardless of where you go on the internet sometimes people don't have an answer for your specific problem. That's not a reason to go ballistic and write off all the other great information that is provided on a daily basis.

Try this

Setting up Yahoo Mail in Outlook 2013
In Outlook 2013, click File | Add Account.
Select Manual setup or additional server types.
Click Next.
Select POP.
Click Next.
On the “Account Settings” page, enter your account settings:
Your Name: The name you want to show when you send email.
Email address: Your full Yahoo email address.
Account Type: POP3
Incoming Mail Server: pop.mail.yahoo.com
Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
User Name: Your Yahoo ID.
Password: Your Yahoo account password.
Leave the “Require logon using Secure Password Authentication” option unchecked.
Click More Settings.
Click the Outgoing Server tab.
Select the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication box.
Click Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
Click the Advanced tab. Enter advanced information:
Incoming server (POP3) port: 995
Select This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL).
Outgoing server (SMTP) port: 465, 587, or 25
Set the encryption type to SSL or TLS
Set your desired server timeout and delivery options.
- We recommend leaving a copy of messages on the server.
Click OK.
Restart Outlook.
Click Send/Receive All Folders.
