can't link Facebook contact with her Twitter account?

for some of the contacts in my people hub i cannot link their Facebook accounts with their existing Twitter accounts. I'm friends with them on both accounts so that shouldn't be the problem. I also tried making sure i filtered my contacts with both Facebook and Twitter. am i missing something? can i not link the two if they have their Twitter set to "private"?

Weird. Are you getting an error message or something when you try to link them? Or does the account not show up in your list?
