Can't reset Lumia 950

My 950 started acting strange. Start screen won't load. Can't launch apps. I'll need to reset it. Problem is I can't. I've tried Settings--> About--> Reset, I've tried button combination, I've tried WDRT. In each case, whet the phone restarts, it doesn't reset the OS to the OOB experience. It just boots back to the damaged OS. Is there another way to bruit force it?

WDRT resets back to factory firmware which is pre-Anniversary Update. I'm in the process of getting back to Fall Creator Update myself on a 950. One thing I don't recommend is to restore from a backup. You've come this far, start from scratch. Work your way up to the latest firmware and then start adding apps and email accounts, etc.

Are you sure you've done the buttons right? That method is independent of the OS so in theory it should work unless your phone is well and truly fuct.

Also, remove the sim card and sd card in case those are interfering with the process.
