i did that, it must be in one of the PC settings.

You will need to go to Desktop then Control Panel then Hardware and Sound then Power Options then Edit Plan Settings.

don't see any such thing... Desktop, then Control Panel (do you mean the new Control Panel or the classic Control Panel - either way there is no Hardware). There are other ways to get to Power Options but I don't see any way to set a timeout value. You can do it in secpol.msc though.
