Changing Windows Live ID Associated with Gamertag

So, not sure if this is the best place to post - but it's sort of regarding gamertags so this seemed best. Anyway:

I want to change the Windows Live ID that is associated with my gamertag per: Windows Live ID Management | Xbox LIVE Account | Xbox Support

I know that I will have to reset my phone and start over with the new live id; however, does anyone know if the games purchases I've made on my phone are tied to the live id or the gamertag? I'm pretty sure when I do this that all licenses on my Xbox will transfer over to the new live id (since they are associated with the gamertag), but I don't know if the same is true for WP7 or not. Has anyone tried this?

IIRC, the purchases are tied to the XBLGT, not the LiveID. I do not believe the same can be said for Zune purchases, but I'm not sure.

Thanks guys! I just tweeted to @WinPhoneSupport and got this response:

"Yes but you will have to do a factory reset on the device and sign into the phone with the new WLID."

I'll give it try tonight and report back with what I find in case anyone else wants to know.
