Chime in: Is it wise to buy a Windows phone right now?

Is it wise to buy a new Windows phone in 2018? Probably not.
It's 2018, and at this point Windows phone is beyond dead. Microsoft has confirmed it has no plans to make any new phones running Windows 10 Mobile, and there are no plans to release any new software features for the platform either.
But there are plenty of people out there who are still interested in the platform, and might even be looking into buying a new phone. So is it actually wise to buy a new Windows phone right now? We're going to say no.

If the device in question is Lumia 950/950 XL, my answer will be YES. It's hard to get a device with 4K display, wireless charging, type C port, 20 MP pure view camera with triple LED and second gen OIS among with high end Snapdragon processor at 200 dollars price point even in 2018!!

We should not ignore the hardware capabilities when evaluating a phone. As fast as software is considered, you can always use EDGE browser and pin your favourite sites on start screen. That's a small compromise that your will have to make.
