So I have a chance to choose between these two phones. I'm thinking about cooling off from iphone for a bit, and Im really excited about Windows OS on the phones nowadays and change is always good (well almost).

Some of my friends told me that 735 is kind of better, easier to handle with one hand, better grip, better front camera ( but somehow low light pictures are the same as on 830 from what i've seen), but a bit worse back camera, 4.7" screen and someone is giving pros to AMOLED and many other are telling that LCD on 830 is better for windows phone.

About battery life, I suppose 735 performs better but I got used to everyday charging with my iphone 5s so I won't have problems with that...

Design, because I got used to iphone, i really love alu frame on 830 and for me it really looks stunning, on pair or even better than 930. So I would personally go for 830 if design is the only thing that im doubting about.

Also, sound quality with headphones in. I'm using sennheiser in-ear headphones since forever and I wonder if it got good or at least iphone 4/5 bass in it or is it flat...

For apps, I'm using 4 apps everyday on my iphone, so i would not have any problem with missing of some "mainstream" apps in windows store, for now.

Thanks all

I think there is a bigger difference between the back camera's but the 735 has still a good camera.
The 830 has OIS so "less" influence of shaking and you can store RAW (DNG) images but if you are not into taking pictures that much then this difference is not that important.

Furthermore
- the 830 has QI charging out of the box and for the 735 you have to buy a dedicated back cover for it.
- the 830 supports Glance and the 735 not.
- the 830 has 16 GB internal and the 735 8 GB
- the 830 can connect to a 5GHz band router and the 735 not.
- the 830 has a dedicated camera button the 735 has not.
- the 830 has Dolby audio support the 735 not.

And see below article
Here are the missing features from the Nokia Lumia 730 and Lumia 830 that you may care about | Windows Central

So I guess the only feature of above which is important for you is that the 830 supports Dolby audio and the others are just nice bonuses.

Good luck and let us hear what you bought.

Well..before 1520 i had 735 and my friend got 830, so i have experience with bout devices.
Why i chose 735(?) for battery. Simple like that. I could chose 830 for glance and dedicated camera button, but saving 100? and getting more battery. We did a test, my friend use to charge it every day, and i did it like every second day..so if you are busy man (working, no near charger) battery is way to go. Camera..well maybe it sound funny but i think 735 and 830 have same camera. In every day usage people will not even notice differences. So if you are not profesional photographer chose whatever you want. I've got qi charging out of box, never use it but still. Display: Colours are more vibrant and ,,live" then lcd one and 8gb is easily upgraded with sd card.
Ps. 735 front camera is simply amazing, trust me on that.
Hope i helped a little.. Now it's your time to chose between saving money, design, and battery. Best of luck!

I have an 830 and like it. (Looks nice, good battery life, good camera and cameras software.) If I was doing it over now I'd save the $$ and buy either a 735 (love the looks) or a 640 (5-inch screen is nice). I think the advantages of the 830 are slim enough that they don't justify the price premium.

Get the L830. You get more for about the same price. Camera wise you get a 10MP on the rear, but a 0.9MP on the front, but the L735 offers a 5MP in the front and a 6.7MP in the rear...

For me, it's a no-brainer in favor of the 830, but depending on your tastes, needs and budgets... it may be a no-brainer the other way around. The 830 is the most beautiful smartphone out there in my opinion, combining the premium build of a metal frame with vintage Lumia style in a sleek and slim package. Then there's the superior camera, OIS, wireless charging, bigger display, and glance screen. There are other perks but they don't matter as much to me as the ones I mentioned.

Thanks guys

The price difference for me will be about 20-30€ top, since I'm getting 735 under contract and going to sell and add 20-30 to get green 830 (probably). So it's not 100€ difference or something like that. Maybe I should mention that in first post but from what i've read so far, it looks like its good choice even for bigger price difference and for 20-30 is just spot on. Since I got used to alu/metal body of iphone, personally I like 830 more, i really really like it, even more than 930... Don't know why.

Also, since im selling 735 and iphone 5s, it's not like im limited to budget, but I would rather buy 830 at this point than flagship as 930 because I dont know what MS has in store around the corner for us, and prices for flagship phones declines faster than on mid-range phone. Also, since I saw that 830 performed buttery smooth (cant compare with android devices at same price range) I wont miss fluidity of iphone ios.

One more thing if someone had experience with it. Anyone of you tried listening to music with earbuds, in ear heapdhones? I know it supports dolby audio but from what i've read, its only for recording w/ video...

All Lumia devices has Dolby headphones enabled.

I use earbuds whole my life, and as far i've seen (heard) :music on 735 is great.

OP, the build on the 830 is awesome. The camera is really really quite good. I hate charging my devices by plugging the charger in so the built in wireless is a big plus for me. Overall the look and the construction and feel of the device is stellar. I got mine at a steal on eBay - I don't think I could have gotten a 735 for that price as well so I am quite happy with my Lumia 830. I have a iPhone 5S also lying around which I plan to list on Swappa today so I know how you feel about the comparison between the two devices.

The 830 looks great. No other way of putting it. Feature-wise it's good too as it has most gimmicks. Battery life lasts at least a day of good use.

Best Windows phone I've had. Only complaint - would probably like it a bit faster, but as a stop gap until the end of the year when new flagships are around, its hard to beat.

Lumia 830 has better design. Way better.

Also, That's interesting but; they two have the same processors and RAMs; but Lumia 830 is more fluent and has better performance. You can verify this situation in this forum. Weird, but true.

Ok guys, i bought this phone yesterday and im blown away! But literally! So much love for it on first sign, touch and after playing with it! Great design, light, awesome screen, camera is on pair with iphone 5s, i bet pictures can be even better after RAW editing. I'm really happy that I decided to take this one over 735!

Oh and sound with headphones, only thing I was scared about (thought its gonna be worse than on iphone) and its awesome! Great bass, highs, lows, almost perfect for my ears with my sennheiser in-ear heapdhones... And volume is freaking loud! Can't stand more than 20-22 :D so I'm really happy with sound and loudness quality.

So, after purchase, no regret after all! As a matter of fact, I wonder why I didn't take WP earlier...

Thanks for the feedback. And spread the word so your family, friends, coworkers etc also buy a windows phone.

Surely will do.

At the moment im trying to persuade my gf to give up on her iphone 4s and take this lumia 735 that's still in my possession, sealed in the box :D
