Hi all,

how do I clean my Surface book Display right ? I use a Micro fiber every one i a while but right now i have some finger prints I want to remove. Can use Monitor cleaner with the Micro fiber or is that bad for the Display ? Any suggestions ?

Regards

In general, do not use any liquid in cleaning your screen. A dry microfiber cloth with light pressure should work - just make sure your microfiber cloth is clean first, otherwise it won't be as efficient as it should be.

I usually use a dry micro fiber cloth. Occasionally, I dampen a rag with a mild window cleaner and wipe off the goo, then follow with the dry micro fiber cloth.
I know some people think that is a horrible thing, but I have been doing it for years and years now on my Surface Pro 1. Zero issues there. I've also done it a time or two on the Book.

I use water for the goo. Those chemicals and solutions may dissolve or react with the anti-reflective and oleophobic coating on the screen. This was the case with my HTC 8s - I kept using isopropyl and ethyl alcohol to remove the finger prints easily. But over the months, the screen became more prone to finger prints, less resistant to oil.

I'll stick with microfiber cloth and water to be safe.

Hand Sanitizer is the only thing that I use on screens, its the best. Try on glass first and see what I mean.

I use a dry micro fiber cloth as well. I have used it for the entire six months that I have owned the device with 0 issues.
