Clicks and such noises when turning on camera

It may just be the shutter and associated noises attributed to readying the camera to take vivid picture, but I am curious if anyone else hears a few short clicks and such when booting up there camera, whether from an app or by holding down the camera button.

Well of course, it's an optical shutter after all. That's the sound of the lens opening up.

that actually explains the rattle you hear if you shake your phone. Its ball bearings inside...

Pamphlet says its Optical Image Stabilizer, and not to worry about it. So everyone hears it, including guys at Nokia. And they're very aware we'll hear it.

i hear the balls. but the only other phone i had with a shutter on it was the LG KU990 from 2005! Touted a 5 MP camera... and guess what - I could check my e-mail + document viewer + mp3 player + MANUAL FOCUS. 2 years before the first iPhone. We've come a long way boys & girls.
