Could my phone be over heating from over use?

Heat or over use issue with my 822

Hi.

My 822 is about 2 years old and I'm was very happy with it. Since a month, I am getting a "SIM card error" message and my network goes offline when this happens. This usually happens when I am browsing with Wi-Fi turned on for over 15 minutes; or navigating with location turned on for 30 minutes or more; or gaming for 20 minutes. I suspect that this happens from prolonged use/heating. I am able to temporarily solve the problem by turning the phone off for 10 minutes, let it cool and turn it back on.

What is the solution to this problem ? Has anyone else experienced this ?

It sounds like you need to send in the phone for repair or take it to a local verizon wireless store for replacment.

My 822 is more than 2 years old, and I haven't seen this issue. It gets warmer after heavy use, but doesn't produce that error. Maybe a problem with the sim card? If you can, take it to a Verizon store.

Thank you everyone. The issue was with the SIM. The gold portion had corroded and wasn't making contact due to that. It's probably from the moisture that I picked up in the tropics.
