Crazy display issue!

Did you try separating the tablet when this occurred? Might help pinpoint the problem. Obviously you would lose your secondary display, but if it clears up when you separate the machine, that would suggest an issue with the Nvidia gpu. If the display was still messed up after separation, it suggests an issue with the main unit. Either way, it sure looks like a hardware issue.

Yeah, I'd assume it's hardware given that I've not seen it as a common complaint. If it were just a bad set of drivers, then I'd expect it to be more common. And of course, how long do you want to wait to see if it's just hardware? Certainly, I wouldn't wait beyond the return period, however long that is.

OK, guys. Trying and seeing if there will be another issue and will try to separate the display too.

Either way, I am going to prepare for a replacement...

Definitely a hardware issue. I saw this same thing happen on a replacement Surface Pro 3 awhile back. MS took it back and sent me another.
